Dalton S.p.A,the first unit of Dalton Chemical Group,was created in Milan in 1948 to produce specialities for Textile and Tanning industries.
Thirty years later Dalton built a new and modern factory in Limbiate,10 miles outside Milan ,where the Group Headquarters is still located today.
During the first period Dalton laboratories developed a wide range of highly qualified specialities to help the Textile and Tanning industries
which required an ever increasing range of specific products to improve their own production and quality to serve markets,which through the years became more and more sophisticated.
In the mild Eighties,Dalton worked out a programme to develop and expand its activities more rapidly.
Two companies were acquired:I.C.S. Industria Chimica Subalpina and Samatec from E.N.I Group and new factories were built in Southern Italy.
This successful program brought sales from 7 ML $/year to the present level of 60 ML $/year.
At the same time Dalton Chemical Group entered new market areas such as Coating with Barium Sulphate and Carbonate, Pharmaceutical with X-Ray Barium Sulphate and PP vitamin (Nicotinic Acid),Waste-Water Treatments and Environmental Control.
